Charlotte to Lowgap, North Carolina – 28 March 2023

We stopped at the Round Peak Vineyards in Lowgap, Virgina, a Harvest Host, for an overnight stay.  I love staying on wine farms as the scenery is always so beautiful. We weren’t disappointed.  The farm was a good size and the hosts very friendly. After settling in and taking Jax for a walk around the vineyards, Derek and I went into the shop to do a spot of wine and beer tasting.  I focused on the Whites and Derek the Reds. Derek found the Reds a little young but I found the Chardonnay to be very pleasant – light and fruity and not sweet, so I bought a bottle.  Beers were nice too. I liked the Hefeweizen the best.

We were joined by another couple also travelling with their dog.  They were from the Finger lakes in New York and were on their way to Charleston. They had an Imagine by Grand Design so we swapped stories about our rigs, families, travel etc. while we enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
