Youngstown, Ohio to Bedford, Pennslyvania – 9 November 2023

On our way to Bedford, the RV tripwizard software took us a bit of the beaten track.  Not sure why but we have been having quite a few issues lately where in some instances our drive time is almost doubled because of the rerouting and it is not obvious why.  However, with this detour we ended up passing by the memorial for victims of flight 93.  On September 11, 2001, flight 93 was one of four commercial airliners that were hijacked and destined to strike US targets on the ground. The 40 passengers and crew aboard the flight heard of the other attacks and decided to try and stop the terrorists who had taken control of their flight and were heading for the US Capitol. The attack was thwarted but the plane crashed in Stoystown, Ohio, killing everyone on board. We were not able to stop and pay our respects but it was a very strong reminder of the brave victims who sacrificed themselves for others. As we travel we are constantly reminded of bravery, pain and loss across our Countries. I am grateful that there are these reminders so we and generations to come will never forget the courage and selflessness of those who have died so we might live in peace.

A common field one day. A field of honour forever.

We stayed at the Friendship RV Resort that night.  Nice big campsite with a lake that you could walk around.  Jax was able to have a nice long run across the field.
