Baddeck to Antigonish, Nova Scotia – 22 September 2023

It was our third time staying at the Whidden campsite in Antigonish.  It is conveniently situated at the top of town so you can go for a nice walk from the campsite and check out all the quaint little shops. Frans was keen to buy some gifts so we went into each of the gift stores.

The following day after a mandatory Starbucks at the Francis Xavier university, we drove to Antigonish Landing trail head and went for a nice hike in the wetlands.  Saw tons of birds but not much else.  It was however a sunny pleasant day and lovely to be outside again. After Antigonish we drove around Cape George to Ballantine’s Cove. Stopping at a couple of beaches along the way. I was hoping to visit the Blue Fin Tuna museum but when we finally got there it was closed so that was rather disappointing but it was nevertheless a great drive.  The largest Atlantic Blue Fin Tuna was caught here in 1979 and weighed 1,946 lbs.
