Chehalis to Albany, Oregon – 2 March 2022

We crossed from Washington into Oregon and made our way to the Albany KOA RV resort. It rained steadily all the way and when we arrived Derek had to manoeuvre the RV through lots of puddles. We were quite pooped after our late night and couldn’t wait to set up the RV and relax.

The RV park was fairly deserted. Some construction going on at the main office. As with the KOA in Port Angeles there was a decent sized dog run and I was able to let Jax chase his ball and get some exercise.

We settled down for the evening glad to be able to connect to water and power again. Fairly uneventful day.

In the morning, I took Jax for a good walk around the park before we left. Minnie min was starting to get a lot more comfortable with travelling now. I was really concerned how she would cope with hours in the car, as she would meow constantly during our trips. I got some tablets from the vet before we left Canada to reduce her anxiety and these seemed to mellow her out. She didn’t like being confined to her carrier, so Derek suggested I let her loose in the car. I was very reluctant at first, but all she did was climb out and settle next to Jax in his bed. She seemed very interested in what was going on outside and would stretch up to the window and look out while we were travelling. Jax was pretty good about her sharing his bed, even though he had to contend with her tail being in this face half the time.

His stomach was beginning to settle down after lots of pumpkin and diarrhea medicine. Thank goodness, as those evening poop walks were very tiring.
