Fort Nelson to Pink Mountain, British Columbia – 17 September 2024
A rather smoky and overcast drive from Fort Nelson to Pink Mountain and also road works along the way. Scenery changed which started with very little mountains and lots of greenery along the roads and also dead, still pink, Fireweed.
As we got closer to Pink Mountain the smoke cleared we saw lots of mountains again in the distance.
There was heavy construction happening all along the road outside of the Pink Mountain Campground and it looked like many of the construction workers were staying in the campground either in RVs or in portable buildings. There was no Pink Mountain anywhere to be seen but the weather was overcast and rainy.
While Derek set up the RV I took Jax for a walk around the property and visited some farm animals they had on site. There was a massage Pig that was super friendly and came bounding over to us from inside his pen. Jax did not know what to make of him and started barking loudly, which didn’t really phase the pig at all. There were also a number of goats and horses.
We caught up on work and settled in for some Teriyaki flavoured Salmon and salads for supper.
