Jackson, Michigan to Elkhart, Indiana – 15 October 2023

We arrived in Elkhart in the late afternoon and set up the RV across the road from the Grand Design factory in one of their 8 RV grassed spots.  The whole area was completely deserted being a Sunday afternoon.  As Grand Design needed access to do some repairs we purchased some totes and while I set about unpacking cupboards and packing them into totes and sorting out all our food and clothes for the next 3 weeks. Derek in the meantime, went through the “basement” and packed a number of tools away.

After I had taken Jax for a walk, we had a quick bite to eat and fell into bed exhausted.  At 3.30am we awoke to bright lights and the sound of beeping of forklifts and the revving of trucks at the factory.  Kind of hard to sleep after that.  We had to get the RV to Grand Design in Middlebury by 6.30 am so we got up at 5.00 am and started packing everything into the truck.

After leaving the RV at the Service Centre we were able to offload the totes and excess stuff into the storage facility.  Job done, we found the nearest Starbucks and then made our way to our VRBO house in Indiana.
