Muncho Lake to Fort Nelson, British Columbia – 16 September 2024
The road through the rest of the Muncho Lake Provincial park was stunning with bright Fall colours and lots of mountains from the Northern Rockies.
We saw three Caribou along the side of the road. They quickly disappeared into the forest as we slowed down to take a better look.
Stopped at Triple G Hideaway in Fort Nelson, a small oil and gas town and stayed overnight. The Campground had a large gift shop and several wooden carvings at the entrance. The doors to the office consisted of rifles on the door. Obviously still in hunting country.
It had been a long day so I took Jax for a walk along a path which led into town, past the Fort Nelson Heritage Museum. The Museum had a bunch of old equipment outside which looked more like a junk yard then anything else. Nevertheless, I would have liked to have explored the inside of the Museum if Jax hadn’t been with me.
That night we BBQ’d outside the RV. First time in I cant remember when. Hasn’t been much of a Summer to do that and when it was warm previously, there was always a bug problem. So it was really nice to eat outside for a change.
