St Barbe to Lomond River, New Foundland – 4 August 2023
After a brief stop in Port Saunders to pick up and fit a new hydraulic pipe, we drove to Lomond River Lodge (Campground). As Derek got set up I went over to the Takeout and ordered a couple of burgers for dinner (it was between that, poutine and hot dogs). Nevertheless the burgers were fine and at least I didnt have to make any supper.
The Campground had a number of cabins as well as camping sites. It was nestled in a densely forested area alongside a river and on the way to Woody Point where we had previously caught a water taxi too when we were in Gros Morne National Park. Quite a pretty area and very popular for fishing.
In the morning I took Jax for a short walk along the river and like in River of Ponds – much to Jax’s delight – frogs were jumping on the trail in front of us.
