Whitehorse to Takhini Hot Springs, Yukon – 5 July 2024
We spent a relaxing Saturday at the Eclipse Nordic hot springs which was a short walk from our campsite, allowing us to go backwards and forwards during the day.
They had a variety of different temperature pools including a cold plunge bucket (left that one for Derek), saunas, steam rooms, relaxation room and restaurant. I particularly liked the Japanese clay pots which were on the cooler side. We had a bite to eat at the restaurant and then left Derek in the relaxation room while I returned to the RV to take Jax for a walk. Later I went back and repeated a few of the springs with him again.
In Winter, Eclipse hosts a Hair Freezing competition. This requires weather conditions of at least -20 °c. Thanks to the temperature of the hot springs of 40 °c the competitors are safe and warm.
