Whitehorse to Teslin, Yukon – 13 September 2024
The following day we drove to Teslin. This was a different campsite to the one we had stayed in on the way into Yukon. As we drove down the hill towards the campsite we saw a beautiful rainbow which appeared to just come out of the ground. The colours were very vivid.
The campsite, Continental Divide, had a small office, a “motel” and a campground. Everything was quite rundown but there were signs that renovations were underway, so perhaps someone new had just purchased it. There were a few permanent RVs on site and a large amount of dumped cars, appliances and old gas pumps to the one side of the property.
Zero cell coverage on the road on the way in but thankfully we managed to get internet at our site so I could catch up again on the day’s work. It was pouring with rain so I made some Butternut soup and after a walk with Jax around the campground we settled in for the evening.
That night I couldn’t sleep with work running through my head, so I got up at 5 am the following morning and started tackling it. Later after packing up the RV for travel I took Jax for a walk around the park. Nowhere to leave any garbage – they have to take it to the dump themselves so you cant leave it there. First time that has happened to us.
